Our School - Basics |
Our school is a small independent school for students in the ages 16-20,
an education that extends for three years. It is located in Uddevalla,
a small city on the Swedish west coast,
approximately an hour by car from Gothenburg.
The school has about 150 students, 50 in each year group,
which enables a close atmosphere and good environment for both individual studies and team work.
The IT aspect of our programme is profound and all students have their own laptops,
which is a necessary tool in their daily work here.

First Year |
|
The aim with year one is for the student to feel competent in the gathering,
processing and presentation of information in different ways.
When gathering information it is very important to assess the sources used,
and to use a range of sources; the processing of this information is then guided by the choice of presentation being used,
an oral presentation, a written report, a web site or a flyer, etc.
|
Second Year |
|
In year two the goal is a different one; the students are expected to acquire basic skills in two chosen fields of study,so called profiles.
The students have a good deal of influence over their own studies at this point as the eligible part of their studies make out almost half of this year’s total amount of points, 400p.
|
Third Year |
The third and final year is meant to give the students a deeper knowledge in one of the previously chosen fields of study.
One of the two chosen paths from year two is discarded,
while the other is pursued for the remaining year, another 300p.
Along with this a new course is introduced; a course which takes its focal point in reflection and analysis.
This approach is implemented on issues of global character such as environmental issues and economical issues for instance.
Together these two courses make out the heart of year three.
